About Me

Murali Swaminathan
Hello! I am Murali Swaminathan — founder of Atma Wellness Clinic and your Ayurvedic practitioner.
My path into Ayurveda did not begin in a classroom. It began with years of living with digestive issues that conventional medicine could not fully resolve. Treatment after treatment brought limited results and unwanted side effects. When I finally turned to an Ayurvedic practitioner, the difference was transformative — not just in my digestion, but in my entire understanding of what health actually means.
That experience became the foundation of everything I do. I went back to school and earned my M.S. in Ayurveda from Maharishi International University, completing the program with top academic standing. I am currently completing a PhD in Health and Physiology — research that bridges the ancient science of Ayurveda with the modern frameworks of physiology, biochemistry, and integrative medicine.
Alongside my Ayurvedic training, I am a certified Yoga Instructor with deep practice in Transcendental Meditation and pranayama. I also hold a background in Vedic astrology, which I integrate into my consultations to provide truly personalized guidance.

Qualifications
My clinical training at Maharishi International University gave me hands-on experience assessing and supporting a diverse range of patients — from chronic digestive conditions to stress-related imbalances, hormonal concerns, and lifestyle disorders. That training, combined with years of private practice at Atma Wellness Clinic, has shaped a consultation style that is thorough, personal, and rooted in identifying root causes rather than managing symptoms.
As a certified Yoga Instructor, I integrate tailored yoga practices into my clients’ wellness plans — addressing the mind-body connection that Ayurveda has always recognized as central to lasting health. Through pranayama and meditation, I help clients cultivate the internal stillness that accelerates every other aspect of their healing.

Training

Beyond my academic studies, I have also been trained in Transcendental Meditation (TM), a practice I have incorporated into my daily routine for several years. This training was a crucial part of my curriculum and has greatly deepened my comprehension of the mind-body connection. Through TM, I have achieved greater mental clarity, emotional balance, and overall well-being, which I am eager to share with my clients.
